• Similar to other areas of the software, Viewpoint provides a good starting point for reports. In general most are too long, provide 80% of what you need and could use a little sprucing up. To their credit it is impossible for them to design a standard report that works for everyone and many of these reports were designed years ago. As customers we want Viewpoint to spend their dollars developing the product for the future not editing things they did years ago. That being said, any customer should go into an implementation fully expecting to create an entire portfolio of their new reports, especially for operations.
• If you can create reports that the operations staff values and will user the chances for adoption of your new software will increase drastically.
• Being an employee in the operations side of the business for 12 years, I have developed my own Report portfolio that you can obtain and select reports that are quick and easy to load on your system.
• I also work with customers to develop their own custom reports.
• Start incorporating the deep linking function in two your reports that takes the drilldown concept to a new level. If you are drilling into a report and then hit something where you would need to leave the report and launch a report just put a deep link to the record straight into the report so Viewpoint will just do it for you.
